CUSO-VSO is grateful to individual and institutional donors for their support, and respects your rights as a donor.

We are committed to making sure donated funds are used in an efficient and effective manner. As a registered Canadian charity, an independent chartered accountant audits CUSO-VSO annually. These audited financial statements are available upon request.

CUSO-VSO respects the dignity and privacy of those who benefit from our activities. We do not sell our donor list. Any rental, exchange or other sharing of our donor list will exclude names of any donors who have so requested. CUSO-VSO’s finances are conducted according to the Code of Ethics of the Canadian Council for International Cooperation:

  • CUSO-VSO assures appropriate use of funds and accountability to donors.

  • Contributions are used as requested by donors and as promised in fundraising appeals.

  • Fundraising and administration costs are kept to a minimum.

Donor entitlements

Upon request, donors and prospective donors are entitled to:

  • our most recent annual report and financial statement

  • our registration number assigned by Canada Customs and Revenue Agency

  • a list of members of our governing body.

Every effort will be made to honour our donors' requests to:

  • limit the frequency of solicitations

  • not be solicited by telephone, email or mail

  • not receive printed material.
